Abstract
Severe postoperative pain is common following orthopaedic surgery, and its safe and effective management can be challenging for everyone on the health care team. There are a variety of methods used to address orthopaedic postoperative pain and all incorporate the principles of multimodal analgesia. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of the primary methods used to manage orthopaedic pain and describe the perianesthesia nurse's role in the administration of them.Entities:
