Abstract
Since its foundation in the late eighteenth century, the Royal Museum of Physics and Natural History (La Specola) in Florence was famous for its anatomical models in wax. This paper reconstructs multiple meanings of the models by focusing on practices of model production and model use, and by situating the models' reception within their institutional and cultural context.Mesh:
