Abstract
Localized amyloidosis of the urinary bladder is a rare condition. Five patients, 1 with localized secondary amyloidosis, are described. The symptoms, macroscopic hematuria and tumor-like appearance in cystoscopy, may mimic bladder cancer. Diagnosis is based on histopathological examinations with Congo red staining. In most instances, the treatment of choice is transurethral resection and electrocoagulation. Because of the risk of recurrences, a close follow-up is recommended.Entities:
