Abstract
Radiosurgery is the precise application of focused radiation to a targeted volume area within the brain, which has been identified on MRI. With recent advances, radiosurgical treatment is now being evaluated as an alternative treatment to open resective surgery for intractable epilepsy. Recent prospective trials suggest that radiosurgery may be an effective and safe treatment for medically intractable epilepsy associated with mesial temporal sclerosis, cavernous malformations, and hypothalamic hamartomas.Entities:
