Bowel venous malformation associated with an aneurysm of the portal vein.

Alexis Jacquier1, Guillaume Gorincour, Vincent Vidal, Philippe Petit.

Abstract

We report the unique association of a rectosigmoid venous malformation and an aneurysm of the portal vein in a 7-year-old child. Doppler ultrasonography allowed the diagnosis; MRI confirmed the diagnosis and demonstrated the extent of the abnormality. The treatment and evolution over a period of 6 years is recorded. The relationship between these two entities and treatment is discussed.
