Abstract
Tourette syndrome (TS) is characterized by at least one motor and one verbal tic with duration of more than one year with no 3-month period without tics. It is one of the most common childhood movement disorders and often causes significant morbidity in the children it affects. TS as well as its numerous comorbidities are often under-recognized if the clinical suspicion of the physician is not high. In this review, we describe two patients with TS that varied in their degree of symptoms and treatment. We would like to emphasize with this review that TS occurs more commonly than it is diagnosed and is often confused with other conditions, such as seasonal allergies, sinusitis, and seizures. Correct diagnosis is important in order to allow appropriate treatment and to improve the quality of life for these patients.Entities:
