Abstract
Congenital absence of the portal vein is a rare malformation in which mesenteric and splenic venous flow bypasses the liver and drains into various sites in the systemic venous system via an extrahepatic portosystemic shunt. In an 11-year-old girl with congenital absence of the portal vein, the detailed anatomy of the extrahepatic portosystemic shunt is demonstrated by time-resolved contrast-enhanced MR angiography.Entities:
