Abstract
Mycobacterium simiae, a multidrug-resistant, opportunistic acid-fast bacillus, usually causes infection in immunocompromised hosts. We describe a previously healthy child with M. simiae necrotizing granulomatous cervical lymphadenitis. Cure was achieved with excision of the affected nodes and adjunctive antimicrobial therapy.Entities:
