Abstract
Authors evaluate the results of patients with acute rupture of the scapholunate (SL) ligament, demonstrated by arthroscopy, in this study. One group of patients was treated with reinsertion of SL ligament by the help of Mitek anchor. In the other group there were patients with diagnosed total rupture of SL ligament which rejected the reinsertion of the ligament. Authors evaluate results of both groups 24 months after the injury. On the basis of clinical and X-ray results, even after such short time, reasonably worse results for the group without performed reinsertion were determined. Even X-ray documented arthrotic changes of scapholunate advanced collapse (SLAC) type were present.Entities:
