Abstract
We report on a BK virus-associated nephropathy in a 28-year-old man. His symptoms occurred 5 years after he had received a kidney transplantation. He was treated with tacrolimus, azathioprine, and prednisolone. The progress of the disease was monitored by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reactions for BK virus DNA. An analysis of viral DNA showed that the BK virus in the patient's plasma belonged to genotype IV.Entities:
