Abstract
Major depressive disorder is a frequent, serious disorder that usually responds partially to treatment and leaves many patients with treatment resistance. This article reviews and critically evaluates the evidence for the management of treatment-resistant depression and examines pharmacologic approaches to alleviate the suffering of patients who benefit insufficiently from initial treatment.Entities:
