The posterior intrahepatic approach for hepatectomy or removal of segments of the liver.

Abstract

We have described herein an anterior and posterior perihilar intrahepatic approach to the hepatic sheaths of the segments of the liver. This approach allows early delineation of the anatomy of the liver and we believe it is a useful addition to the techniques available for operating on the liver.
