Abstract
Necrotizing myopathy is an unusual and severe form of paraneoplastic myopathy in which inflammation is minimal or absent. We report two cases of necrotizing myopathy which demonstrated significant response to intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) (one in spite of tumor progression). A third case represents the first association of anti-signal recognition particle (anti-SRP) syndrome with large-cell lung cancer. These cases highlight the role of histopathologic diagnosis in directing the treatment of paraneoplastic myopathy, and the role for IVIG in treatment of the syndrome.Entities:
