Abstract
Two cross-sectional studies were conducted, in 2002 (N=379) and 2003 (N=397), to estimate the prevalence of intestinal parasites among children at five municipal daycare centers in Botucatu, State of São Paulo. Socioeconomic, sanitary and educational data were collected and parasitological tests were performed on feces. Giardia duodenalis presented prevalence of 23.7% (2002) and 21.4% (2003) followed by Cryptosporidium sp with 15.5% (2002) and 3.7% (2003).Entities:
