Abstract

The reaction of the metastable high temperature molecule GeCl synthesized via a co-condensation technique with LiSi(SiMe(3))3 leads to a metalloid Ge(10)Si cluster compound, in which the arrangement of the germanium atoms can be seen as a cutout from the structure of elemental germanium.
