Abstract
Anemia has recently been recognized as a frequent complication of diabetic nephropathy, appearing earlier than in nondiabetic renal disease and amplifying the risks of cardiovascular and microvascular complications. A major cause is an inappropriate erythropoietin response to anemia, often accompanied by iron deficiency and therapy with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers.Entities:
