Abstract
As bariatric surgery becomes more popular, the number of renal transplant recipients who undergo weight loss surgery will continue to grow. This population presents unique challenges because of increased infection risks, tendency to posttransplant weight gain, and inferior tissue-healing properties. We present two cases of renal transplant recipients who experienced the complications of band erosion and band migration after laparoscopic gastric banding, and we discuss the special considerations that apply to this patient population.Entities:
