Immunologic and viral factors in Sjögren's syndrome.

Abstract

Sjögren's syndrome is a multifactorial disease in which genetic and possibly viral factors play major roles. The recent development of an SS-like disease in patients infected with HIV-1 suggests a possible retrovirus.
