Abstract
The Mental Health Workforce Strategy for England outlined a commitment to ensure that the mental health workforce had the skills, capabilities and capacity to meet the needs of people with mental health problems. One of its commitments involves creating new roles, including the community development worker for black and minority ethnic communities. This article outlines the key components of the role and how it is intended to ensure the mental health needs of black and minority ethnic communities are met.Entities:
