Abstract
Failure of total hip arthroplasty with central migration of prosthetic components is uncommon. Various pelvis and visceral complications have been reported from intrapelvic migration of the acetabular cup or the cement or from the heat generated by methylmethacrylate polymerization. To our knowledge, we are the first to report intrapelvic migration of a femoral stem causing ipsilateral lower-extremity swelling, pressure sores, and severe bowel symptoms after the removal of the acetabular component.Entities:
