Terrill Bravender1, Ronald Kanter, Nancy Zucker.

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: This is the first case report of a second-degree heart block (Mobitz Type I) described in a patient with anorexia nervosa (AN).
METHOD: We present the case of a 20-year-old woman with AN and second-degree heart block. Pertinent reports in the literature regarding atrioventricular conduction abnormalities as well as cardiac rhythm disturbances are reviewed. RESULTS AND
CONCLUSION: Although this patient's second-degree heart block may represent an intrinsic conduction abnormality unrelated to her AN, the importance of the validation of medical conditions during the treatment of AN is discussed. (c) 2006 by Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
