Abstract
Participation in the sport of figure skating has more than doubled in the past 10 years. The sport has changed with an increased emphasis on free skating, which includes jumps and spins. The actual art of "figure" skating has been eliminated from the sport. With this change, there is an increased volume of foot and ankle injuries in figure skaters. This report outlines common foot and ankle injuries in figure skaters, discusses possible causes, and outlines treatment options.Entities:
