Abstract
Fanconi anemia (FA) is the most frequently reported of the rare inherited bone marrow failure syndromes. It is an autosomal recessive chromosomal instability disorder, which is characterized by congenital abnormalities, defective hemopoiesis and a high risk of developing acute myeloid leukemia and certain solid tumors (1). We report the anesthetic management for a Hickman catheter insertion in a 4.5-year-old girl with this condition. Possible anesthetic implications in the presence of FA are discussed.Entities:
