Abstract
A 2003 article in the Journal of the American Medical Association documented that mortality rates from common surgical procedures were significantly lower in hospitals employing more staff nurses prepared at the baccalaureate level. In this report, that study's authors review case studies of 6 hospitals that demonstrate the kinds of initiatives employers are sponsoring to support a better-educated nurse workforce.Mesh：
