The biology of allograft incorporation.

Steven P Arnoczky1.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal allografts remain an important, and are sometimes the only, treatment option for the reconstruction and replacement of damaged or absent musculoskeletal tissues. Understanding the biologic factors that affect the donor-host interactions and ultimate incorporation and remodeling of various allograft tissues is an essential prerequisite for their successful clinical use.
