Abstract
The formation of complex structures in any multicellular organism requires cooperative behaviour within cell populations. Genetic and molecular analysis of pattern formation in the Drosophila embryo is providing us with new insights into the cellular basis of this process, implicating a diversity of molecules, some familiar, others novel, in intercellular communication.Entities:
