Universality of gonadotropic hormone effect. Effect of mammalian FSH on the ovotestis of the snail Helix pomatia.

Abstract

Gonadotropic hormone (FSH) stimulated markedly spermatogenesis in the ovotestis of snails. This is indicative of the presence of receptors sensitive to gonadotropic hormone in snail spermatogonia. FSH had no influence on oogenesis.
