[Diastematomyelia - a rare differential diagnosis in trauma patients].

A Gezgin1, M Markmiller.

Abstract

Diastematomyelia presents a rare differential diagnosis of vertebral findings in traumatology. This article provides a definition, as well as discussing the epidemiology and attendant symptoms of this congenital spine deformity. In addition, its neurologic complications and clinical pertinence are considered after reviewing the literature.
