Abstract
Salmonella species represent uncommon causative agents in focal infections of the head and neck. This article presents a rare case of Salmonella submandibular abscess in a 59-year-old patient with diabetes mellitus, chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis. The patient was successfully treated with drainage of the abscess and oral administration of quinolone. An immunocompromised condition can be a critical predisposing factor for Salmonella submandibular abscess.Entities:
