Pseudotumor cerebri - idiopathic intracranial hypertension in the pediatric population.

Anat Kesler1, Haim Bassan.

Abstract

Pseudotumor cerebri (PTC) or Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) is a well-known syndrome in the pediatric population. PTC/IIH is less common in children than in adults, has distinct clinical manifestations and different characteristics in the prepubertal versus the pubertal age groups. Secondary risk factors are relatively common. As in adults, the pathophysiological basis of PTC/IIH is as yet undefined.
