Abstract
Ultrasound has been used to examine the infant hip for more than 20 years. Clinical neonatal hip screening is performed to identify hip dysplasia and start therapy as soon as possible. Identification of anatomical structures and standard plane with three reference points are the most important features of the method. Ultrasound is used in the determination of head containment in hips with Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease (LCPD). Slipped capital epiphysis and capsular distension can be diagnosed by ultrasound as well.Entities:
