Abstract
RBx 8700, an investigational oxazolidinone, has excellent activity against respiratory pathogens. We evaluated the in vitro minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and bactericidal activity of RBx 8700 against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) isolates. RBx 8700 had an MIC of 1 gLg/ml against M. tuberculosis isolates resistant to both isoniazid (INH) and rifampicin (RIF), whereas its MIC against M. tuberculosis isolates resistant to either INH or RIF was 0.5 microg/ml.Entities:
