Abstract
We report the first case of a pathological complete response for plasmacytoid urothelial carcinoma of the bladder. A 76-year-old man was diagnosed with plasmacytoid urothelial carcinoma (T4, N0, M0) by the microscopically plasmacytoid appearance of the specimen from the transurethral resection. Immunohistochemical studies were positive for epithelial markers and negative for lymphoid markers. Two cycles of systemic chemotherapy were performed with methotrexate, etoposide, vinblastine, and cisplatin, followed by radical cystectomy. The pathological examination revealed no residual cancer cells in the resected specimen.Entities:
