Abstract
Measurement of safety and quality is fundamental to health care delivery. A variety of measures are needed to fully understand the system; quantitative and qualitative measures are both useful in different ways. Measures need to be valid, reliable, accurate, timely, collectable, meaningful, relevant and important to those who will use them. Clinicians value appropriate measures and respond to them.Mesh：
