Abstract
Acute severe intoxication with carbamazepine is associated with seizures, coma and respiratory depression. Traditionally, charcoal haemoperfusion is used to remove the drug. We present a case of carbamazepine intoxication, successfully treated with three hours of high-flux haemodialysis. Thus, haemodialysis using high-flux membranes is a feasible and effective therapeutic option for carbamazepine intoxication.Entities:
