Oral examination. Present state and future development.

P Tate, P Tombleson, L Southgate.

Abstract

The overall format of the oral examination has remained unchanged for over two decades but the content and method of the examination have frequently been reviewed and updated. The last three years in particular has been a time of rapid development. This paper describes those developments and indicates the way contemporary assessment theory has influenced recent changes.
