Abstract
Spinal extradural cyst is a rare cause of spinal cord or nerve root compression. We present a case which is unique due to both the young age of the patient and its distinctly acute haemorrhagic presentation. In what is normally considered a degenerative disease in older patients this has implications for the possibility of a traumatic aetiology in children. The literature on the classification of extradural cysts is reviewed.Entities:
