[Impact of coal mining on bird distribution in Upper Angara Region].

V O Salovarov, D V Kuznetsova.

Abstract

Bird distribution in the first half of summer was analyzed in the areas of past and present opencast coal mining in the Upper Angara Region. Most species preferred forest habitats even with traces of industrial impact. Artificial water bodies introduced as a result of coal mining increase the diversity of bird species.
