Abstract
A 47-year-old woman was referred to our hospital for an intracardiac electrophysiological study. The procedure was complicated by cardiac arrest due to massive pulmonary embolism, which only successfully resolved after the administration of a thrombolytic agent. This case suggests that there is a real risk of venous thromboembolism in certain patients during electrophysiological studies. Therefore, a consensus should be reached concerning the prevention of venous thromboembolism during these procedures.Entities:
