Abstract
Attempts at preventing drug and alcohol use by youth may fail more often than they succeed, but failures are rarely reported in the literature. There are three types of failure: (1) failure to initiate, (2) failure to be effective, and (3) failure to thrive. Brief descriptions of prevention failures of all three types are presented and the reasons for failure are discussed.Entities:
