Abstract
The fine structure of the oocyte of Bankia australis is compared with that of other bivalve oocytes. It was observed that following fertilization, the microvilli changed their spatial organisation and behaviour towards sperm, the cortical granules disappeared in regions of high concentrations of supernumerary sperm, and the mitochondria apparently stated to divide.Entities:
