Abstract

The paper presents the results of a study of the significance of IgE in the diagnosis of echinococciasis. Preoperative examinations of patients with showed the increased serum concentrations of IgE. The decreased concentration of IgE was recorded on postoperative day 20. Enzyme immunoassay used to measure serum IgE concentrations is a sensitive technique for the diagnosis of hepatic echinococciasis and for the prognosis of allergic reactions and diseases.
