Abstract
Spontaneous dissection of the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) is rare and has been reported only sporadically. The therapeutic options are either a surgical approach, which is the most frequently adopted, or simple observation. We present a patient with acute abdominal pain due to superior mesenteric artery dissection who was successfully treated by percutaneous endovascular stent placement.Entities:
