Activation of Rho and Rac by Wnt/frizzled signaling.

Raymond Habas1, Xi He.

Abstract

Wnt/Frizzled (Fz) signaling controls developmental, physiological, and pathological processes by means of several distinct pathways. Wnt/Fz activation of the small GTPases Rho and Rac has emerged as a key mechanism that regulates cell polarity and movements during vertebrate gastrulation. In this chapter, we describe biochemical assays for the detection of Wnt/Fz activation of Rho and Rac in both mammalian cells and Xenopus embryo explants.
