Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore expressions of spirituality in rural women with chronic illness. Six categories that emerged were prayer, faith, verse, finding meaning, transcendence, and family. Results of this study were consistent with findings in previous literature that spirituality can be an extremely helpful and powerful coping mechanism that can be used in managing the stressors of a chronic illness. Spirituality is an important illness management tool that needs to be acknowledged by healthcare professionals.Entities:
