Abstract
An acute, severe onset of celiac disease is very unusual in adults. We describe its occurrence postpartum in two patients. These, together with two similar cases previously reported, suggest a causal association with the puerperium. Possible causes include potentiation of a pathogenetic immune reaction and hormonal mechanisms.Entities:
