Heterologous collagen in wound healing: a clinical study.

Abstract

The author reports an open controlled trial on 72 patients affected by different types of skin ulcers, in which a heterologous lyophilized collagen sponge was compared with Dextranomer as healing adjuvant. The rationale of use and pharmacological properties of this collagen are outlined and explain its outstanding results.
