The non-surgical management of ectopic pregnancy.

E Kirk1, G Condous1, T Bourne1.

Abstract

Ectopic pregnancy can now be detected at earlier gestations in asymptomatic women. As a consequence conservative treatment strategies may be more appropriate than surgical intervention. This review aims to discuss the diagnosis and the non-surgical management options for ectopic pregnancy, in particular expectant management and the use of methotrexate. Copyright 2005 ISUOG.
