Abstract

In this work, we consider the results of a study carried out in our unit about 65 dialysed chronic renal failure patients. The work is based on the study of medical records and the results of ophtalmoscopic examination and phosphocalcic balance evaluation. Ocular manifestations and their relation with initial nephropathy, dialysis and phosphocalcic disturbances are described. The following alterations were observed: - corneo conjunctival deposits (60%), - cataract (26%), - hypertensive retinopathy in 21(68%) cases among 31 (48%) who suffered from hypertension, - hypertensive choroïdopathy in one case, - vascular thrombosis in one case, - diabetic retinopathy in all patients (7) with diabetes.
