Abstract
Bacteria were isolated from a landfill site previously used for disposal of chlorinated organic wastes. These soil isolates were capable of utilizing various chloroaromatic compounds. One such bacterial strain, designated Pseudomonas cepacia HCV (2,6-DCT) and growing on 2,6-dichlorotoluene, transferred this trait to a catechol-1,2-oxygenase mutant of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.Entities:
